Robert Edward Berry
Dec. 10, 1927 – Feb. 29, 2008
Robert Edward Berry, 80, of Rushville, died Feb. 29, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Rush County, a son of the late Lloyd and Crystal (Myers) Berry.
Mr. Berry married Martha M. Thompson on Dec. 31, 1947. He was a powerhouse engineer at the Carthage Container Corp. for 43 years. Mr. Berry was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and Moose Lodge, where he was a past governor.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of Rushville; two sons, Danny (wife, Sheila) Berry and Mark Allen (wife, Julie) Berry, both of Rushville; three daughters, Vicky Kidd, Deama Kay Maupin, both of Rushville and Tracie (husband, Bill) Hankins of Indianapolis; a brother, Norville Berry of Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were March 4 at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Charles Justice officiating. Visitation was March 4 at the funeral home. Military graveside rites were conducted at Rushville East Hill Cemetery.
