Larry D. Saunders

Sept. 27, 1943 – March 1, 2008

Larry D. Saunders, 64, of Greenfield, died March 1 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield

He was born Sept. 27, 1943, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Leo Saunders and Eleanor (White) Saunders.

Mr. Saunders was a 1961 Hancock Central High School graduate. He retired from Delco Remy in 1993. After retirement, he continued to work on his family’s farm. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors and going to farm sales. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughters show their dairy goats each summer. He married Vicki (Eakin) Saunders on July 28, 1962.

Survivors include two daughters, Amberlee (husband, Chris) Hudson of Greenfield and Shana Wolfenberger of Greenfield; his mother, Eleanor Saunders of Greenfield; three granddaughters, Ashton Hudson, Savannah Hudson and Zoey Wolfenberger, all of Greenfield.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Revs. Terry Campbell and Mike Manning officiating. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Star Financial Bank in care of Larry and Vicki Saunders’ granddaughters’ eductional fund.
