Dwight Hopkins

May 31, 1929 – March 2, 2008

Dwight Hopkins, 78, of Shelbyville, died March 2 at Heritage House Convalescent Center in Shelbyville.

He was born May 31, 1929, in Rush County, a son of the late Albert and Leona (Shafer) Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins attended Spiceland High School. He married Evelyn Reed on Nov. 30, 1948. He was a truck driver for Knightstown Elevator, and he also worked as a body man at Goodwin Inc. in Knightstown.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha (husband, Steve) Perkinson of Indianapolis; a grandson, Bryan (wife, Linda) McMahan of Carthage; a sister, Harriet (husband, Dale) Green of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; two brothers; and two sisters.

Private funeral services will take place at Freeman Family Funeral Home, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, in Shelbyville. Burial will take place in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
