Auda Helen Tevis
Dec. 14, 1943 – Feb. 19, 2008
Auda Helen Tevis, 64, of Shelbyville, died February 19 at Heritage House in Shelbyville.
She was born Dec. 14, 1943, in Rushville, a daughter of the late Aaron and Lula (Statom) True.
Mrs. Tevis graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1962. She worked at Major Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of West Street United Methodist Church, the Gingham Gals Homemakers Club and the Shelbyville Jayshees. Mrs. Tevis enjoyed traveling with her husband, attending yard sales, attending church and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Stephan Tevis of Shelbyvile; her mother-in-law, Lucy Saunders of Shelbyville; two daughters, Stephanie (husband, Lonnie) McQueary of Fairland and Angela (husband, Brad) Stafford of Shelbyville; a brother, James (wife, Marcella) True of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Ida (husband, Joseph K.) Knott of Knightstown, Jean (husband, Teddy) DeWees of Eaton and Betty Phyllis Russell of Houstonville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon and Cody McQueary and Steve, Travis and Mason Stafford.
Funeral services were February 23 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Rev. Glenn Coffey officiating. Burial followed in Bennett Cemetery. Visitation was February 22 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
