Travis Carter Sharrett

Dec. 5, 1989 – Feb. 1, 2008

Travis Carter Sharrett, 18, of Mt. Summit, died February 1.

He was born Dec. 5, 1989, in New Castle, a son of Todd Carter and Lisa Kay (Cunningham) Sharrett of Mt. Summit.

Mr. Sharrett was a senior at Blue River Valley High School. He attended Mooreland Friends Church. He was an avid golfer and text messager. Known to his friends as “T-Money,” he enjoyed being a big brother to his friends in Avon. Mr. Sharrett was known for his sense of humor and he enjoyed making people laugh.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Cory and Daniel Sharrett of Mt. Summit; maternal grandparents, Jack and Penny Cunningham of New Castle; great-grandparents, Violet Cunningham of New Castle and Leamon and Ruby Slaven of Florida; an uncle, Scott (wife, Kelly) Sharrett of Greenwood; two aunts, Lori (husband, Gary) Wallen of Wilkinson and Lonna (husband, Tom) Shelton of Avon; cousins, Stacie Shelton, Brooke Shelton, Becca Wallen, Austin Shelton and Caleb Wallen; and a special friend, Blaine Hammon of Mooreland.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Trevor Sharrett, Sharon Sharrett Shively and Allen Shively.

Funeral services are at 4 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at First Baptist Church in New Castle with Pastor Mark O’Brien and Pastor Carl Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, at Mt. Summit Christian Church, and one hour prior to services at First Baptist Church in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Travis Sharrett Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Main & Davis Funeral Home, Astor Main Blue River Chapel.
