Addie “Kay” Butler

Aug. 3, 1937 – Jan. 30, 2008

Addie “Kay” Butler, 70, died January 30 at Hearth at Prestwick in Avon.

She was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Dunreith, a daughter of the late Ike and Mildred (Sorrell) Smith.

Mrs. Butler married Leon Butler on June 8, 1955. She worked as a homemaker for many years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Survivors include a son, Michael (wife, Amy) Butler of Danville; a daughter, Joyce Ann (husband, Peter) Bendslev of Houston, Texas; a brother, Freddie Smith of New Castle; two sisters, Connie Jean Faucett of Mooreland and Sharon Boyd of New Castle; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; and a brother, Donnie Smith.

Funeral services were February 4 at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was February 3 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
