Virginia L. Ware

July 10, 1931 – Jan. 8, 2008

Virginia L. (Collins) Ware, 76, of Greenfield, died January 8 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born July 10, 1931, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Claude and Irene (Day) Collins.

Mrs. Ware retired from Avon Products after 20 years as a district sales manager. She was a member of Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She and her husband, Richard, celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on December 31, 2007.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Ware of Greenfield; two sons, Gregory L. Ware of Greenfield and Brent L. Ware of Indianapolis; a grandson, Brendon Lee Ware of Indianapolis; a brother, Rev. Luther O. (wife, Patty) Collins of Arizona; a sister, Beulah Marie Collins of Florida; a stepgranddaughter, Erica Eason of Indianapolis; her stepmother, Louise Collins; a half-sister, Ruth Young; and a half-brother, Claude O. Collins.

Funeral services were January 13 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Private burial will follow at a later date. Visitation was January 12 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Yellow Rose of Methodist Hospice.
