Vernon Bruce Kiser
June 12, 1928 – Jan. 7, 2008
Vernon Bruce Kiser, 79, of Shirley, died January 7 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born June 12, 1928, in Mercer County, Ohio, a son of the late Oral and Helen (McMullen) Kiser.
Mr. Kiser was a Kennard High School graduate who later worked as a purchaser for Gas America for 15 years. A Shirley Lions Club member and former Lions district governor, he coached numerous high school and Pony League baseball teams. He also played semi-professional baseball.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (husband, Steve) Snider of Shirley; two sons, Mick (wife, Renee) Kiser of Greenfield and Gary Kiser of Shirley; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor (husband, Frankie) Cleek of Shirley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Bruce Kiser.
Funeral services are Thursday, January 10, at 11 a.m. at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Charlie Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapter.
