Dortha Grossman

April 3, 1909 – Dec. 21, 2007

Dortha Grossman, 98, of Knightstown, died December 21 at Heartland Healthcare in Avon.

She was born April 3, 1909, a daughter of the late Arthur and Cora Ramsey.

Mrs. Grossman was a lifelong member of Knightstown United Methodist Church. She worked as a teller at First National Bank in Knightstown for many years, retiring in 1974.

Survivors include two daughters, Marlene (husband, Tom) Sato of Huntsville, Ala., and Susan (husband, Fred) Griffin of Plainfield; seven grandchildren, Cindy, David and Michael Griffin, Stanley, Sam and Clifford Sato and Julie Harrell; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Marion Rhodes, Porter Carroll and Darold “D.W.” Grossman.

Funeral services were December 23 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Burial followed in at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was December 23 at the funeral home.
