Don C. “Acie” Walters

Aug. 28, 1920 – Dec. 19, 2007

Don C. “Acie” Walters, 87, of Greenfield, died December 19 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Trenton, Tenn., a son of the late J.C. and Hattie Jane (Eddleman) Walters.

Mr. Walters was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, having served in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked for Greenfield Central schools and retired after 30 years of service.

Survivors include four children, William J. (wife, Jeneva) Watlers of Indianapolis, Timothy Walters and Pam Lyman, both of California and Brian Walters of Kansas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were December 22 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Gary Sickle officiating. Burial followed at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson with full military graveside rites conducted by Knightstown American Legion Post 152. Visitation was December 21 at the funeral home.
