Freeman “Dee” Elliott

Feb. 6, 1932 – Dec. 14, 2006

Freeman “Dee” Elliott, 74, of Peoria, Ariz., died December 14 in Peoria.

He was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Connersville, a son of the late Freeman and Corrine (Pettis) Elliott. Mr. Elliott was raised in Knightstown and graduated from Knightstown High School in 1950. He was a former employee of Elliott Oil Company in Knightstown. Mr. Elliott was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He married Merilyn Bird in Raysville in 1952 and moved to Arizona in 1968.

Survivors include his wife, Merilyn, of Peoria; two daughters, Kathy Elliott and Melanie Elliott, both of Peoria; four sons, Larry (wife, Elaine) Elliott, Randy (wife, Sue) Elliott, Bruce Elliott and Mitch Elliott, all of Peoria; a brother, Ronnie (wife, Erma) Elliott of Knightstown; 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Michael, Marty, Shawn, Brittany, Morgan, Jacque, Jacob, Tara and John (wife, Lei) Elliott; and two great-grandchildren, Gracie and Annabelle Elliott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Elliott.

Funeral services were December 20 at Best Funeral Home in Peoria. Burial followed in National Cemetery in Phoenix. Visitation was December 19 at the funeral home.
