Pauline Ertel
May 23, 1924 – Nov. 23, 2006
Pauline Ertel, 82, of Greenfield, formerly of New Castle, died November 23 at Regency Place in Greenfield.
She was born May 23, 1924, in Rushville, a daughter of the late Paul and Ruby (McDonald) Bennington.
Mrs. Ertel was known as a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family events. Mrs. Ertel also enjoyed cleaning house in her spare time. She was a member of New Lisbon Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (wife, Linda) Ertel of Indianapolis and David (wife, Patia) Ertel of Carthage; a daughter, Karen (husband, Bill) McCormick of New Castle; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Bronagem of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Ertel; a son, Charles Ertel; and two brothers, Paul Henry Bennington and Dwight Bennington.
Funeral services were November 27 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, with Gary Clark officiating. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation was November 26 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to New Lisbon Christian Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
