Warren D. Gregory
Aug. 1, 1934 – Nov. 16, 2006
Warren D. Gregory, 72, of Knightstown, died November 16 at his home.
He was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Wayne County, Ky., a son of the late Virgil and Pearl (Blevins) Gregory.
Mr. Gregory was a 1954 Charlottesville High School graduate. Later, in 1955, he graduated from the National School of Aeronautics in Kansas City, Mo. He served a member of the Knightstown Police Department Auxiliary for 20 years and he was a well-known security officer at Knightstown High School basketball games for 30 years. Mr. Gregory also worked at Delco Remy for 30 years. On July 12, 1959, he married Wanda Moffitt. Mr. Gregory was a member of Knightstown Friends Church and he was a Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
Survivors include his mother, Pearl Mae Gregory of Knightstown; his wife, Wanda Gregory of Knightstown; a son, Mark (wife, Lori) Gregory of Knightstown; a daughter, Karen (husband, Myran) Crabtree of Spiceland; and a sister, Gladys “Mickey” Easton of Knightstown.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were November 20 at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Mervin Kilmer officiating. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was November 19 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Hospice or the Hoosier Gym with envelopes available at the funeral home.
