Agnes Goodwin

April 14, 1919 – Nov. 19, 2006

Agnes Goodwin, 87, of Greenfield, a former Knightstown resident, died November 19 at Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield.

She was born April 14, 1919, in Rush County, a daughter of the late Elza and Esther (Hamm) Pitts.

Mrs. Goodwin lived in Knightstown most of her life. She married Bill Goodwin in 1972 and he preceded her in death. She was a nurse’s aid at the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 Auxiliary and Knightstown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Capizzi of Hot Springs, Ark., and Judy Whitesitt of Wilkinson; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Funeral services are Wednesday, November 22, at 2 p.m. at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Rev. Steve Brackney officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of the services on Wednesday, November 22, at the funeral home.
