Paul Junior Day

May 4, 1933 – Nov. 10, 2006

Paul Junior Day, 73, died November 10 at The Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.

He was born May 4, 1933, in Fayette County, a son of the late Larkin and Mamie (Pierson) Day.

He married Katie Lou Hill on Feb. 3, 1953. Mr. Day worked at Ford Motor Company as a “hi-lo” and tug operator for 30 years. He retired from Ford in 1987. He attended Body of Christ Fellowship Church in Greenfield and was a member of Greenfield American Legion Post 119.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Paul (wife, Jane) Day of Greenfield; a daughter, Sherry L. (husband, John) Parsons of Greenfield; a sister, Marcella Parsons of Kokomo; five grandchildren, Chad Wilkinson, Chad Parsons, Jessi Freeman, Samantha Day and Adam Day; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky A. Day; a brother, Melvin Day; and a sister, Betty Thurston.

Funeral services were November 14 at Erlewein Mortuaries in Greenfield. Burial followed at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with military graveside rites conducted by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation was November 13 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6100 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
