Marie Reynolds
July 14, 1914 – Nov. 4, 2006
Marie Reynolds, 92, of New Castle, died November 4 at Henry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 14, 1914, in Ripley County, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Smultz) Williamson.
A resident of Greensboro most of her life, Mrs. Reynolds worked at the Greensboro and Spiceland telephone exchanges during the 1930s and ‘40s. She was a member of the Greensboro Home Ec. Club, Locust Grove Community Club and Farm Bureau. She was also a member of Greensboro United Methodist Church. Mrs. Reynolds enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ida Reynolds of New Castle; three granddaughters, Julie Reynolds of New Castle, Renee (husband, David) Brown of Greensboro and Donna (husband, Guy) Showalter of New Castle; three great-grandchildren, Lucus Wright, Amber Wright and Joshua Brown; four step-great-grandchildren, Zack and Annie Brown, Angi Showalter and Brooke Nation; six great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Craft, Kaleb Pike, Kialyr Brown, Kody Brown, Ryan Showalter and Jayden Patterson; a sister, Eva McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Reynolds; a son, Donald Reynolds; two sisters, Ethel Harsh and Elzada Hodson; four brothers, Charles “Buff” Williamson, George Williamson, Steve Williamson and Ed Williamson.
Funeral services were November 7 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was November 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Greensboro United Methodist Church or Henry County Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
