Eugene Burkher

March 25, 1925 – Nov. 2, 2006

Eugene Burkher, 81, of Knightstown, died November 2 at Regency Place in Greenfield.

He was born March 25, 1925, in Rush County, a son of the late Fay and Enid (Binford) Burkher.

A retired Rush County farmer, Mr. Burker was a member of Walnut Ridge Friends Church in Carthage. He was a 50-year member of Carthage Masonic Lodge #580 and a member of the Scottish Rite and Shrine in Indianapolis.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, Ken Doversberger of Kokomo; a niece, Marilyn Doversberger of Kokomo; a nephew, Ron (wife, Linda) Doversberger; a good friend, Jerri Chew of Knightstown; two great-nephews, Eric and Mike Doversberger; and a cousin, Normalee Henley of Greenfield.

Funeral services were November 6 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Burial followed at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation was November 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Ridge Friends Meeting with envelopes available at the funeral home.
