Wayne Edwin Patterson
Feb. 16, 1940 – Oct. 19, 2006
Wayne Edwin Patterson, 66, of Laurel, died Thursday, Oct. 19, at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Rush County, a son of the late Earl “Dodge” and Frances (Matney) Patterson.
Mr. Patterson served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1965. He later retired from WCI, D&M in Connersville. A member of United Auto Workers, Mr. Patterson enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. On June 8, 1966, he married Joan D. Ariens.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Earl Patterson of Knightstown; a daughter, Angie (wife, Roger) Howard of Connersville; two brothers, Ernie (wife, Winnie) Patterson of Falmouth and Jim Patterson of Shelbyville; a sister, Janie (husband, Bill) Rankin of Rushville; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were October 23 at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville. Burial, with full military rites, followed in Raleigh’s Zion Cemetery. Visitation was October 22 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
