Roland Eugene Engleking

Nov. 1, 1923 – Oct. 13, 2006

Roland Eugene Engleking, 82, of Charlottesville, died October 13 at Hancock Regional Hospital.

He was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Scott County, a son of the late Raymond and Eliza Charlotte (Everhart) Engleking.

Mr. Engleking was a lifelong Hancock County farmer and a member of Nameless Creek Christian Church. He was a member of Indiana Farm Bureau and the Indiana and National Holstein associations, and he was named District Dairyman of the Year in 1984. Mr. Engleking enjoyed talking with visitors from all over the world who frequently visited his dairy farm.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Jean (Davis) Engleking of Charlottesville; a daughter, Rebecca Sue Boaz of Fortville; a son, Robert E. (wife, Darlene) Engleking of Charlottesville; five grandchildren, Angela (husband, Greg) Tielking of Knightstown, Robert Dale (wife, Carrie) Sutton of Mohawk, David Sutton of Indianapolis and Andrea and Ryan Engleking, both of Charlottesville; five great-granchildren; a sister, Margaret Cole of Morristown; three brothers, Neal Engleking of Salem and Ivan and Marvin Engleking, both of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Matlock.

Funeral services were October 15 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Dr. Jim Carcia officiating. Visitation was also October 15.
