R. Dale Hager

Dec. 8, 1956 – Sept. 30, 2006

R. Dale Hager, 49, of Knightstown, died September 30 at his home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1956, in Greenfield, a son of the late Clarence and Lavonne (Hardy) Hager.

A 1974 Knightstown High School graduate, Mr. Hager worked as a millwright at Metaldyne Corporation in New Castle. He was formerly employed at Formica in Indianapolis, where he was maintenance supervisor. Mr. Hager was a member of the Muskrats Club of Rush County and UAW Local #371 in New Castle. He enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, visiting Kentucky and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Jason (wife, Angie) Hager of Knightstown; a daughter, Amber (husband, Brian) Kent of Knightstown; a granddaughter, Nova Hager of Knightstown; a grandson, Johnothon Hager of Knightstown; a brother, Jerry (wife, Renee) Hager of Valparaiso; three sisters, Linda Whisman of Economy, Brenda (husband, Ed) McMahan of Arlington and Sandy (husband, Greg) Masters of Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Conley; and a brother, Thomas Hager.

Funeral services were October 4 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Visitation was October 3 at the funeral home. Cremation followed funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
