Lola Jean Spegal

Feb. 3, 1929 – Oct. 2, 2006

Lola Jean Spegal, 77, of Shirley, died October 2 at Rawlins House in Pendleton.

She was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Eden, a daughter of the late Chester and Eva (Stohler) Brizendine.

A lifelong homemaker, Mrs. Spegal was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and owned and operated Warrington Market.

Survivors include five daughters, Marcia (husband, Fred) Stephenson of Anderson, Jamie (husband, Bill) Pierce of Pendleton, Sheryl Spegal of Shirley, Tammy (husband, Jeff) McClellan of Hobart and Paula (husband, David) Irwin of Kennard; four sons, Paul Hervey (wife, Shirley) Spegal of Wilkinson, Bill (wife, Debbie) Spegal of Shirley, Dennis (wife, Beth) Spegal of Knightstown and Tom (wife, Lisa) Spegal of Cicero; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Brizendine of Florida and Raymond Brizendine of Greenfield; a sister, Glendora Beyers of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Spegal, in May 1996; a brother, Leroy Brizendine; and two sisters, Hazel McCord and Betty Stine.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 5, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Larry Barkdull officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, at the funeral home.
