Kenneth R. Stevens
Oct. 8, 1915 – Sept. 27, 2006
Kenneth R. Stevens, 90, of Cambridge City, died September 27 at Oakridge Rehabilitation and Specialty Care in Richmond.
He was born Oct. 8, 1915, in White County, a son of the late George F. and Amy (Breckenridge) Stevens.
Mr. Stevens retired in 1978 from the packaging department at the Philco Ford plant in Connersville after 32 years of service. Mr. Stevens was U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Cambridge City Christian Church and the LeRoy Tout American Legion post in Dublin. He enjoyed reading and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Elliott of Knightstown and Darlene (husband, David) Wilson of Kokomo; two grandchildren, Scott Wilson of Kokomo and Andrea (husband, Andy) Dutchess of Noblesville; one great-granddaughter, Lily Dutchess; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mattie Stevens; two brothers, Russell and Lester; one sister, Bethel Stevens; and a son-in-law, William Elliott.
Funeral services were September 30 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Tracy Wright officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation was September 29 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cambridge City Christian Church, 106 W. Church St., Cambridge City, IN 47327.
