Gloria A. Wells

Jan. 1, 1917 – Sept. 23, 2006

Gloria A. Wells, 79, of Knightstown, died September 23 at her home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late Cloyed E. McCready, DDS, and Lucille (Vale) McCready.

She married James H. Wells on April 30, 1949, and he survives. Mrs. Wells was a 1949 graduate of Indiana University, where she earned a bachelors degree in elementary education.

Mrs. Wells was a member of Delta Zeta sorority, ISTA, NEA and Fletcher United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Deb (husband, Steve) Hickey of Shirley; and three grandchilren, Matthew (wife, Megan) Hickey of Greenwood, James (wife, Erin) Hickey of Muncie and Samuel (wife, Shannon) Hickey of Greenwood.

Graveside runeral services were Sept. 26 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with Pastor Jess Ireton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Hospice, 801 N. State St., Greenfield, IN 46140.
