Chrismon W. Strunk

July 25, 1925 – Aug. 26, 2006

Chrismon W. Strunk, 81, of New Castle, died August 26 at his home.

He was born July 25, 1925, in Quinton, Ky., a son of the late James and Virgie Alice (Nichols) Strunk.

Mr. Strunk retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle after 32 years of service. He was also a farmer.Mr. Strunk served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Kennard Christian Church, Greensboro Masonic Lodge #175, Eastern Star #492, Kennard Lions Club, York Rite, York Rite Comandry and he was a past member of the New Castle Moose Lodge. Mr. Strunk was also an avid fisherman.

Survivors include a son, John (wife, Lois) Lewis of Middletown; three granddaughters, Cindy Joslin of Middletown, Sandy (husband, Curt) Ashton of Anderson and Karla (husband, Rob) Sanders of New Castle; four great-grandchildren, 1st Lt. Jonathan Sheedy, Jessa Ashton, Luke Hamm and Dylan Hamm; a stepson, Russell (wife, Nancy) Enix of Oakville; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Enix and Clara Jean Enix, both of New Castle; two step-grandsons, Jason Enix of Demont and Aaron Enix of Indianapolis; one step-great-granddaughter, Kolby Enix; a sister, Bobie Black of Greensboro; a brother, Homer “Yank” Strunk of Bronston, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; a close friends, Mike and Marsha Redmon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Thelma L. Strunk, in 1997; his second wife, Betty Strunk, in 2005; four brothers, Gilbert, Raymond, Rosco and Billy Strunk; five sisters, Lottie Johnson, Kathlene Black, Laney Latham, Ruby Strunk and Hettie Strong.

Funeral services were August 29 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Marion McFarland officiating. Burial, with full military rites, followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was August 28 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kennard Christian Church.
