Noble L. Smith

Sept. 9, 1913 – Aug. 21, 2006

Noble L. Smith, 92, of Greenfield, died August 21 at Brandywine Manor in Greenfield.

He was born Sept. 9, 1913, in Lee County, Va., a son of the late Dawson and Allie (Bowen) Smith.

Mr. Smith managed Dill-Fields Implement for International Harvester and hauled milk for Polk Milk Company. He attended Willow Branch United Methodist Church and enjoyed many aspects of agriculture and travel. He was also an avid woodworker who enjoyed making grandfather clocks.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph, (wife, Pat) Smith of Wilkinson and Carol (wife, Kristi) Smith of Greenfield; a daughter, Vivian Batchelder of Decatur; a brother, Cecil Smith of Duffield, Va.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his wife, Avis J. Smith, in 1988; and two brothers, Earl and Jack Smith.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
