Phyllis L. Butcher

Oct. 19, 1937 – July 5, 2006

Phyllis L. (Goble) Butcher, 68, of Shirley, died Wednesday, July 5, at her home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Knightstown, a daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Karing) Goble.

Mrs. Butcher was a lifelong mother and homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Fowler of Martinsville, Tena Feaster of North Vernon and Roberta Schultz of Anderson; two sons, Dennis Butcher of Shirley and Robert “Bob” Butcher II of Greenfield; two brothers, Harold Goble of Burgaw, N.C., and John Goble of Knightstown; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Butcher; four brothers, Raymond “Bud” Goble, Richard “Dick” Goble, Jimmy Goble and Bobby Gene Goble; and two sisters, Shirley Goble and Ruby Jackson.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 8, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Jim Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Green Hills Memory Garden in New Castle. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
