Merle Raymond Trimnell

April 18, 1921 – July 8, 2006

Merle Raymond Trimnell, 85, of Franklin, died Saturday, July 8, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was born April 18, 1921, in Bartholomew County, a son of the late Clarence E. and Sarah Elizabeth (Trimble) Trimnell.

Mr. Trimnell was a lifelong farmer, master gardner and consignee for Mobil Oil. He also served as a bus driver for Edinburgh schools for 19 years. Mr. Trimnell enjoyed his most cherished pet, Phoebe, a poodle. He attended Jollity Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Royd (wife, Dorine L.) Trimnell of Edinburgh; two granddaughters, Lindsey Jo (husband, Charles) Huesman and Maureen Marle (Steven) Jenkins, both of Gatesville; great-grandchildren, Kali and Wyatt Huesman; a half-brother, Ronald Trimnell of Knightstown; a step-brother, Norman J. Hill of New Castle; and two half-sisters, Marjorie Brammer of Greenfield and Nancy Carter of Hot Springs, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Arthur, Harold, George, Ora “Dutch,” Martin “Red,” Lowell and Clarence “Bud” Trimnell; and a sister, Mary Ann Anderson.

Funeral services were July 12 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with Rev. Wayne Bozell officiating. Burial followed in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Visitation was July 11 at the funeral home.
