Thelma Miller

Dec. 16, 1926 – June 27, 2006

Thelma (Harting) Miller, 79, of Shirley, died June 27, at Brandywine Manor Nursing Home in Greenfield.

She was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Hancock County, a daughter of the late Carl and Dora (Kissel) Harting.

Mrs. Miller was a registered nurse who retired from the New Castle school corporation. A member of Wilkinson Church of Christ, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Candace (husband, Dr. James) Wilson of Knightstown; three sons, Thomas Miller of Greenfield, Mark (wife, Cindy) Miller of Kennard and Daniel (wife, Kelly) Miller of Fishers; nine grandchildren, Libby, Tim and Todd Miller, Layne Ethan and Sam Miller, Hayley Miller, Abraham Daniel and Noah Wilson; three brothers, Wayne Harting of Maryland, Glyde Harting of Anderson and Fred Harting of Noblesville; two sisters, Gladys Sowers of Anderson and Carol Wilcox of England; her step-mother, Delyte Harting of Anderson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Buck and Gwen Peacock, Susan Coomer and Elsie Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Miller; a brother, Carl Harting; and a sister, Naomi Hull.

Funeral services were Friday, June 30, at Wilkinson Church of Christ with Dr. Wayne Harting officiating. Burial followed at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was Thursday, June 29, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 9135 N. Meridian St., Ste. B-4, Indianapolia, IN 46186.
