She was born March 3, 1916, in Grant County, a daughter of the late Clem A. and Bertha (Green) Wright.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker who helped her husband, William Ansel Miller, on their farm southeast of New Castle. The couple was married in Winchester on Dec. 17, 1936. She moved to Shirley 15 years ago from Kennard. Mrs. Miller placed God and family at the top of her priority list. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and playing piano. She often played piano at Shirley Friends Church, where she attended.

Survivors include a son, David A. (wife, Carolyn) Miller of Olive Hill, Ky.; a daughter, Peggy (husband, Melvin) Dudley of Kennard; four grandchildren, Shellie (husband, John) Crowe of Muncie, Tammie (husband, Greg) Calligaro of Kokomo, Howard (wife, Joy) Dudley of Kennard and Becky (husband, Gary) Craig of Anderson; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Johnson of Greenville, Ohio, Berniece Harris of Shirley and Helen Hummel of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 31, 1983; an infant son, Stephen Ansel Miller on July 25, 1941; and four brothers, Loftie, Gerald, Earl and Sylvester Wright; and a sister, Marguerite Hummel.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Shirley with James Jackson of Shirley Friends Church officiating. Burial followed at Sugar Grove Cemetery west of New Castle. Visitation was Tuesday, June 13, at the funeral home.
