James M. Addison

Oct. 26, 1920 – June 3, 2006

James M. Addison, 85, of Cadiz, died Saturday, June 3, at The Waters of New Castle.

He was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Henry County, a son of the late James Clinton and Elizabeth (Kendall) Addison.

Mr. Addison was a lifelong farmer and he also worked as a bus driver for 32 years in both the Cadiz and Shenandoah school districts. He was a member of Cadiz Christian Church and 51-year member of Greensboro Masonic Lodge #157. Mr. Addison was also a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge and the Cadiz Lions Club for 54 years. He was a past board member of Henry County Farm Bureau Co-op.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Pring) Wells Addison of Cadiz; a daughter, Phyllis (husband, Donald) Cummings of Cadiz; four grandchildren, Bradley (wife, Julie) Myers, Shelley (husband, Duane) Fortune, Randall Cummings and Amy (husband, Rob) Mores; eight great-grandchildren; a step-son, Stephen (wife, Cindy) Wells; a step-daughter, Charlotte (husband, Mike) Symmes; five step-grandchildren, Michelle (husband, Tom) Boyd; Deborah (husband, Greg) Pope, Kristin (husband, Justin) Bixler, Stephanie Wells and Ryan Wells; and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Addison, in 1994.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at the funeral home. Masonic services conducted by Greensboro Masonic Lodge #175 took place at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cadiz Lions Club.
