Virginia A. Wright
April 21, 1933 – May 19, 2006
Virginia A. Wright, 73, of Carthage, died Friday, May 19.
She was born April 21, 1933, in Rush County, a daughter of the late Hugh and Marie (Leisure) Weber.
Mrs. Wright was a 1951 Mays High School graduate and a member of the Little Blue River Church of Christ. On April 6, 1952, she married James E. Wright and he survives. She retired from the Rush County Area Plan office in 2002 and had worked at Priddy Fabrics and the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown. Mrs. Wright was active in Rush County Home Economics and was a charter member of the Food, Fad & Fashion Home Ec. Club. She was past president of the Rush County Home Ec. Club and won the Ellie Award and the Emsweller Award in 2004.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Brian (wife, Diana) Wright and Scott (wife, Lisa) Wright; a brother, Albert (wife, Janet) Weber; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 23, at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with John Skomp officiating. Burial followed in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Visitation was Monday, May 22, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 135 N. Meridian St., Suite B4, Indianapolis, IN 46209, or Morristown Manor, 868 S. Washington St., Morristown, IN 46161.
