Robert A. Martin

July 28, 1929 – April 21, 2006

Robert A. Martin, 76, of rural Kennard, died Friday, April 21, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

He was born July 28, 1929 in Dry Ridge, Ky., a son of the late Kenneth and Sarah (Smith) Martin.

Mr. Martin was a lifelong farmer and 4-H supporter. He was a member of Knightstown Masonic Lodge #16, the national and Indiana Cattlemen’s Association and Greensboro Eastern Star #543.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy (Weisheit) Martin of Kennard; two sons, Jake (wife, Teri) Martin of Kennard and Tom (wife, Tina) Martin, DVM, of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Nora (husband, Jamie) Maxwell of Knightstown; seven grandchildren, Doug, Dan and David Martin all of Crawfordsville, Jake (wife, Shelia) Martin, Jr., of Kennard; Michele Martin of Columbus, Ohio; Tim and Tomi Maxwell of Knightstown; a great-granddaughter, Faith Martin of Kennard; a brother, Clayton Martin of Pendleton; a sister, Alma Wickard of Greenfield; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Mike Wren officiating. Entombment will take place at Glen Cove Cemetery at a later date. Visitation, including Masonic services, was Tuesday, April 25, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
