Lloyd G. Derrick

Sept. 8, 1932 – April 7, 2006

Lloyd G. Derrick, 73, of Kennard, died Friday, April 7, at The Indiana Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.

He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Mohawk, a son of the late Clarence and Thelma (DeSong) Derrick

Mr. Derrick was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, having served in the United States Army and Air Force. He was a farmer and a bindery worker and an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie (Hadley) Derrick of Kennard; four sons, Danny Paul (wife, Joyce) Derrick of Indianapolis, David Glen Derrick of Redding, Cal.; Donald Lloyd (wife, Evelyn) Derrick of Corpus Christi, Tx., and Dwayne Joseph Derrick of Tampa Bay, Fla.; a daughter, Doreen Gale of Hollyoke, Mass.; four grandsons; four children by marriage, Michael Hofmann, Richard Hoffman, Sherri Robertson and Ruth Ann Lohman.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Nolan, Ralph, William Paul and Bobby Derrick; and two sisters, Eva Fay Morris and Katherine “Dolly” Derrick.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial followed in Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton with military graveside services provided by Knightstown American Legion Post 152. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at the funeral home.
