Joshua William Hampton

Nov. 29, 1976 – March 31, 2006

Joshua William Hampton, 29, of Arlington, died Friday, March 31, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

He was born Nov. 29, 1976, in Henry County, a son of William E. Hampton and Kitty Schmutte.

Mr. Hampton was a lifetime resident of Rush County and a Knightstown High School graduate. He attended ITT Technical Institute for two years where he studied electronics. He had been employed as a builder for the last 10 years. Mr. Hampton was a member of Arlington Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christina M. (Meulen) Hampton of Arlington; his step-mother, Joyce Hampton of Florida; his mother, Kitty (wife, Carl) Schmutte of Maine; two sons, Nicholas C. (Hampton) Meulen and William Hunter Hampton, both of Arlington; and four sisters, Jody M. Hampton of Knightstown, Lola Stout of Bloomington, Jamie Rogers of Bloomington and Sheryl Zins of Maine.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Hampton; and a nephew, Mason Lines.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at Arlington Christian Church with Rev. Bob Brock officiating. Burial followed in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was Tuesday, April 4, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joshua William Hampton Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
