Byron “Barney” Wisehart
Aug. 20, 1928 – March 30, 2006
Byron “Barney” Wisehart, 77, of Shirley, died Thursday, March 30, at his home.
He was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Shirley, a son of the late Lonzo and Mildred (McCray) Wisehart.
Mr. Wisehart retired in 1979 from Chrysler in New Castle. He was a member of the Auburn-Cord-Dusenburg Club and was a member and deacon of Shirley Christian Church. He was also a member of the Shirley Historical Society as well as the Octagon House Society.
Survivors include his wife of two years, Elouise Jane (Ebbert) Wisehart of Shirley; a son, Kevin Lee Wisehart of Shirley; a daughter, Amanda Wisehart of Waterloo, N.Y.; two grandsons, Jayson and Harrison Wisehart, both of Elwood; a great-granddaughter, Reaghan Wisehart of Elwood; a step-daughter, Patsy Woods of Greenfield; a step-grandson, Sam Woods of Greenfield; two brothers, Richard Wisehart of Knightstown and Gerald Wisehart of Oakville; two sisters, Betty Miller and Linda Cole, both of Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Wisehart, in 1994; a granddaughter, Kara Wisehart; and two brothers, Gene and Robert Wisehart.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Darell Deck and James Hill officiating. Burial followed in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice, 801 N. State St., Greenfield, IN 46140.
