James Lewis Lacy

July 30, 1933  - Jan. 29, 2006

James Lewis Lacy, 72, of Spiceland, died Saturday, Jan. 28, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.

He was born July 30, 1933, in Dunreith, a son of the late Charles and Evangeline (Glidewell) Lacy.

Mr. Lacy was a lifelong Spiceland resident who retired from Chrysler in New Castle after 35 years of service. He also worked for Farm Bureau Co-Op. He married Mary Kay Davis on June 21, 1958. Mr. Lacy was a 1951 Spiceland High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army 1953-1955.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard (wife, Pam) Lacy of Indianapolis and Stephen Wayne Lacy of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Anne Marie (husband, Frank) DeMore of Indianapolis; a brother, William Lacy of Anderson; a sister Geneva Bratcher of Knightstown; and three grandchildren, Olivia M. and Evan M. Lacy and Elizabeth DeMore.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 1., at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Rev. Bill Worrell officiating. Burial followed at Center Cemetery. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
