Irene Norris

Dec. 24, 1912 – Jan. 21, 2006

Irene Norris, 93, of New Castle, died Saturday, Jan. 21, at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

She was born Dec. 24, 1912, in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late Will and Sally Bell.

Mrs. Norris retired from Henry County Memorial Hospital after many years of service. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Vena Bell of New Castle; one nephew, Kenny Bell of Indianapolis; and a niece, Jody (husband, Eric) Kinnermon of Newport News, Va.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Sanders in 1964; her second husband, James Norris, in 1970; and a brother, Fred S. Bell, in 1992.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Main & Davis Funeral Home, Broad Street chapel, in New Castle with Rev. Tom Current officiating. Burial followed in New Castle’s South Mound Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to funeral services at the funeral home.
