LaDonna Jean Edwards
March 2, 1928 – Jan. 15, 2006
LaDonna Jean Edwards, 77, of New Castle died Sunday, Jan. 15, at Henry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 2, 1928, in Seymour, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Sadie Mae (Green) Waggoner.
A homemaker, Mrs. Edwards was an active member of New Castle Westview Church of the Nazarene. She and her husband, Bob, who survives, were song evangelists in various churches. She had strong faith in God and wanted to please Him, her husband, her children and their families. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed reading. She married Bob Edwards on Aug. 27, 1950.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Stephen Duane (wife, Sara Ann) Edwards of Russiaville, Rev. Phil (wife, Sara Jane) Edwards of Fortville, and Rev. David Lee (wife, Tina) Edwards of Birmingham, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Brian (wife, Michelle) Isaac, Carla (husband, Mike) Carpenter, Jacob, Amanda, Miriam and Angela; six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Allison, Brian Jr., Amy, Drew and Matthew; a half-sister, Pauline Noblitt of Seymour; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by he rparents; an infant daughter, Janice Diane; two brothers, Donald and Jack Waggoner; four half-brothers, Harold Cox, Milburn Waggoner, Roy Waggoner and Thomas Cox; two half-sisters, Bernice Macak and Dorothy Murphy.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Westview Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with Revs. Paul Riddle and Frank Voss officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. Thursday at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. Visitation is one hour prior to services and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be made to Westview Church of the Nazarene with envelopes available at the funeral home.
