Karen Sue Scott

Dec. 9, 1946 – Jan. 14, 2006

Karen Sue Scott, 59, of Homer, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at her home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Rushville, a daughter of Robert and Marian (Frederick) Miller.

Mrs. Scott lived in the Homer area since 1975, having lived in Rushville prior to that. She was a 1965 graduate of Rushville High School. She later attended Milligan College in Tennessee. On July 2, 1966, she married Dan Scott, who survives. Mrs. Scott worked at Kroger as a cashier in the 1970’s. She was an owner of Hats Off (antiques and collectibles) in Knightstown. She was a 50-year member of Main Street Christian Church in Rushville as well as a 40-year member of Rushville Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Scott was a past Honor Queen in Job’s Daughter during the 1960’s. She was also a master gardener and was very active in the Youth Paint Horse Association during the 1980’s. She was involved in various other youth and horse activities also.

Survivors include her husband; her parents; a son, Marc Scott of Indianapolis; two daughters, Kristena Scott of Homer and Kamille Scott of Rushville; a brother, Dennis Miller of Knightstown; a sister, Denise (husband, Randy) Mohler of Illinois; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karole Lynn Scott in 1976.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Hank Anderson and Rev. Charles Justice officiating. Burial will take place in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery following services. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rushville Boys & Girls Club, Main Street Christian Church or Homer Christian Union Church.
