Charles Howard Stevens

June 24, 1927 – Jan. 13, 2006

Charles Howard Stevens, 78, of Greenfield, died Friday, Jan. 13, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

He was born June 24, 1927, in Rush County, a son of the late Charles H. and Nellie (Carpenter) Stevens.

Mr. Stevens worked at Alsta Container for 26 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in New Castle.

Survivors include two sisters, Helen Little and Janet R. Bishop, both of Mooresville; step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace I. Stevens, whom he married in 1984; two brothers, George and Lewis Stevens; and a sister, Thelma Hoard.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16.
