Jewell Mofield

April 16, 1937 – Dec. 23, 2005

Jewell Mofield, 68, of Marion, Ohio, formerly of New Castle, died Friday, Dec. 23, at Marion (Ohio) General Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1937, a daughter of the late Oris and Angie (McGowen) Gosser.

Survivors include her husband, Roscoe Mofield; three sons, Joe Tafner of Indinapolis, Ferrell Tafner of New York, and Harold Tafner of Texas; a daughter, Valerie Matthews of Arizona; a step-daughter, Kara Lukens of Knightstown; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Gray of Fort Wayne, and Irene Vincent of Wilkinson; and a brother, Edgar Gosser of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Angela Jones; and a brother, Ralph Lee Gosser.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Marshall and Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville with Mick Saunders officiating. Visitation was 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29.Burial followed in Lewisville Cemetery.
