Jerry W. Dupke
March 11, 1955 – Dec. 26, 2005
Jerry W. Dupke, 50, of Shirley, died Monday, Dec. 26, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born March 11, 1955 in New Castle, a son of the late H. Blaine and Lillian L. (Hicks) Dupke.
Mr. Dupke worked at Metals Technology in Shirley for 27 years, spending time in the molding and injection departments. He also worked at Beverly’s Flower Shop for several years. A devoted Christian, Mr. Dupke was a member of Middletown Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. A fan of Nascar racing, he supported driver Mark Martin. Mr. Dupke was honored several times for being a faithful booster for the Shenandoah High School Raiders. A devoted husband and father, his family was a part of everything he did. People came from all over to see his outdoor Christmas display.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Cheryl (Badgley) Dupke of Shirley; a son, Joshua; a daughter, Julie (fiance, Dustin Summers); a sister, Marla (husband, Tom) Kemerly of Shirley; a brother, Gary (wife, Merry) of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; 11 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Dolores Badgley; sister-in-law, Sharon Dupke; brothers-in-law, Joseph (wife, Pam) Badgley, and Randy (wife, Debbie) Badgley.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Reg Dupke; a niece, his father-in-law, Richard Badgley; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Condo & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Phil Rogers and Rev. Kenneth Foust officiating. Burial followed in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Middletown Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or Youth Program, P.O. Box, 86, Middletown, Ind. 47356.
