Clesta Oral Helderbrand

Mar. 13, 1922 – Dec. 22, 2003

Clesta Oral Helderbrand, 81, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Monday, December 22 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1922 in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late John Harvey and Bessie (Henderson) Helderbrand.

Mr. Helderbrand was a former employee of Ball Engineering and Electronics and was a WW II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Stamper Helderbrand; four sons, Ronald Helderbrand of Carthage, Randy, Kevin and Terry Helderbrand, all of Knightstown; one daughter, Helen Kay Elam of Vanceburg, Ky.; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Luster Helderbrand and Everett Allen Helderbrand, both of Olive Hill, Ky., Romey Helderbrand of Carthage, and Leronis Helderbrand of Tullalah, La.; and three sisters, Opal Rayburn of Emerson, Ky., Vesta Ellison of Kennard, and Bethel Loftis of Gordon, W. Va.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Helderbrand in 1991, four brothers, Laverne, Luther and twin brothers, Eric and Artist Helderbrand, and three sisters, Olive Ellison, Martha Riley and Alma Hamm.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 27 at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Ky., officiated by Randy Gross and Duel Loftis. Burial was in the Morgan Cemetery in Lewis County, Ky.

Visitation was held at the funeral home Friday, December 26 and prior to the service on Saturday.
