Clay R. Kimble

Mar. 15, 1928 – Dec. 16, 2003

Clay R. Kimble, 75, a resident of Pendleton, died Tuesday, December 16 at St. Johns Hospital in Anderson. He was born March 15, 1928 in Anderson, a son of Wayne and cluster (Reeve) Kimble.

Mr. Kimble retired after 30 years of service from the Indiana Reformatory in Pendleton. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Cloverdale Church of God, Main Street Church of God and the Pendleton American Legion.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Martha (Clarkson) Kimble of Pendleton; two sons, Jeff (wife Renee) Kimble of Anderson, and Curtis (wife Tammy) Kimble of Alexandria; three daughters, Marla (husband Frank) Littell of Markleville, Alesia (husband Tim) Helbert of Anderson and Elaine (friend Jeff Belcher) Kimble of Anderson; 15 grandchildren, two of which he raised (Chauncy and Lela), Mathew, Joe, Tabatha, Jacob, Katy, Ben, Mari Opal, Dustin, James, Kami, Sarah, Charles and Irene; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack and Paul Kimble; two sisters, Phyllis Burke Burke and Nancy Allen; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Kimble, a sister, Shirley Alfrey and a brother, Dale Kimble.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 19 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Glenn Skinner officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery.

Visitation was held at the funeral home Thursday, December 19 and prior to the service on Friday.
