John W. Fox

Aug. 28, 1924 – Dec. 9, 2003

John W. Fox, 79, of Knightstown, died Tuesday, December 9 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born August 28, 1924 in Indianapolis, a son of the late John Hayden and Gertha (Poland) Fox.

Mr. Fox had lived in Knightstown most of his life. He was a retired electrician for the Knightstown Electric Dept. He was a member of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 and V.F.W Post # 8257. He retired after 25 years of service with the Knightstown Volunteer Fire Dept. John and his wife Mildred were the former owners of the G-2 Café for several years.

He married Mildred Chew who preceded him in death in 2001.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda (husband David W.) Glenn of Knightstown; one sister, Francis L. Fox of Washington, Ind.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leeta Jane Glenn who died October 12, 2003; one great-grandchild; four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 12 at the Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Rev. Mervin Kilmer officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery with military services by members of Knightstown American Legion Post 152 and V.F.W. #8257.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 11 at Todd Funeral Home.
