Mary Anderson-Needle

Nov. 7, 1924 – Nov. 5, 2003

Mary A. (Collins) Anderson-Needle, 78, a resident of Poway, Calif. and a former resident of Wilkinson, died November 5 following a brief illness. She was born November 7, 1924 near Wilkinson, a daughter of the late Homer and Cora (Keller) Collins.

Mrs. Anderson-Needle was a 1941 graduate of Wilkinson High School. She and her first husband, Joseph Anderson was married September 27, 1941 and moved to California. She retired from Knotts Berry Farm in Anaheim, Calif. as a sales lady and buyer for the Ladies and Children’s Apparel Shop.

She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Gilbert Needle; four children, Candice Dominquez, Debra (husband Ross) Jameson, Vickey (husband Gary) Martin, and Fred (wife Becky) Anderson; one brother,  George (wife Avanelle) Collins; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Anderson on November 9, 1986; a brother, Ivan Collins; and one sister, Vivian Fryback, preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held Saturday, November 8 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Jon Day officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery. There was no calling.
