Clyde E. Ruby

Sept. 30, 1920 – Oct. 11, 2003

Clyde E. Ruby, 83, of Estero, Fla. died Saturday, October 11. He was born September 30, 1920 in Westland, a son of the late Donald and Beatrice (Hunt) Ruby.

Clyde owned and operated Rubys’ Corner Market in Carthage for 31 years before retiring to Estero, Fla. In Carthage, he was a member of East Street Christian Church, Lion’s Club and the Masonic Lodge. In Florida, he was a charter member of Anchor Christian Church, Bonita Springs where he served as an elder for a number of years. Clyde was graduated from Carthage High School in 1938.

Survivors include his wife, Arminta, whom he married in 1938; two daughters, Cathy (Harry) Siderys of Indianapolis, and Arlene Whitfield of Shelbyville; one sister, Betty Ellis of Ft. Myers; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A son, Michael, preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on November 7 at the Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel with Rev. David Bonne officiating.

Friends may call 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
