Almira G. Stevens

Sept. 1, 1917 – Oct. 19, 2003

Former Knightstown resident, Almira G. Stevens, 76, of Brownsburg died Sunday, October 19 at Millers Merry Manor in New Carlisle. She was born September 1, 1917 in Knightstown, a daughter of the late George and Opha (Moffitt) Green.

Mrs. Stevens, a homemaker, was a graduate of Knightstown High School. She was a member of White Harvest Methodist Church in Indianapolis, member of Eastern Star in Knightstown, former Deaconess at First Congregational Church in Oak Lawn, Ill., and former president of Womens Guild of United Church of Christ in Oak Lawn, Ill.

Survivors include three sons, Michael R. Stevens of Frankfort, Ill., Timothy K. Stevens, Falls Church, Va., and Mark L. Stevens of Savannah, Ga.; three daughters, Sharon J. Skinner of Lakeview, Ohio, Karen D. Kunde, Hudson, Fla. and Mary Beth Nell of Brownsburg; one brother, Dale Green of Middletown; 13  grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip D. Stevens February 16, 1987.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 23 at Todd Funeral Home, Butcher Chapel, followed by burial in Glen Cove Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
