Newell B. Tinkle

Sept. 17, 1917 – Oct. 6, 2003

Newell B. Tinkle, 86, a resident of Knightstown, died Monday, October 6 at Regency Place Health Care Center in Greenfield.

He was born September 17, 1917 in Grant County, a son of the late Orville and Iva (Hawkins) Tinkle.

Mr. Tinkle retired from the Shirley Feed Mill and had attended the Markleville Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Jhon Kay (husband John) Ellingwood of Pendleton and Nancy Tinkle of Knightstown; one son, Larry (wife Debbie) Tinkle of Knightstown; two grandchildren, Sheri Harmon of Greenfield and Brian Tinkle of Knightstown; two great-grandchildren, Bayley and Mason Tinkle, both of Knightstown; one brother, Phil Tinkle of Marion; one sister, Ruth Martin of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Tinkle in 1994 and a brother, Darle Tinkle.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 9 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Joe Reece officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.

Friends may call at the funeral home form 4-8 p.m. today (Wednesday, October 8).

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or Giddeons.
