Bernice R. Thompson

Wilkinson resident, Bernice R. Thompson, 77, died Thursday, October 2 at Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born March 19, 1926 in Olive Hill, Ky., a son of the late Fred and Idyle (Logan) Thompson.
Mr. Thompson retired after 32 years of service from Regency Electronics of Indianapolis in 1988. He had worked for five years at Hardys Manufacturing and at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle for eight years. He was a member of the Wilkinson Brotherhood and Sisterhood and loved gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pauline Thompson of Wilkinson; four sons, Phillip D. (wife Debbie) Thompson of Shirley, Donnie R. (wife Susan) Thompson of Wilkinson, Victor J. (wife Becky) Thompson of Greenfield and Steve A. Thompson of Wilkinson; four daughters, Gloria K. (husband David) Newman of Huntsville, Texas, Janet (husband Charles) Oldham of Markleville, C. Suzanne Thompson of Fortville and Kristinia J. (husband Barry) McKinsey of Greenfield; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Thompson of Winchester and Hubert Thompson of Wilkinson; two sisters, Nadine Hilderbrand of Olive Hill, Ky. and Justine Thompson of Shiloh, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, William and Fred, Jr. Thompson; and a sister, Virginia Reeder.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 6 in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Darrell Deck officiating. Burial was in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
Visitation was at the funeral home Sunday, October 5.
